Jollete’s Building-Our-Beach-Home Story

“It just checked all the boxes,” says Jollete Ryon-Schoeve, a new Palmilla Beach property owner, and she says their home is the perfect fit for their family and the beach get-away they always envisioned.

Having just come off a custom build of their primary residence, they wanted a simple, elegant beach house where their 5 kids, their significant others, and extended family could come and relax while enjoying the costal life of Port Aransas….without a lot of decisions and an extended construction process.

“Palmilla checked all the boxes. I have the beach getaway I’ve always dreamed about” – Jollete R-S.

Their newly built townhouse has 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, and expansive entertainment space. Their only challenge was a need for a bigger dining area to accommodate 12 people around a table. Fortunately, they were able to tweak the townhome layout and personalize the space by moving a few walls and closets. They were thrilled with the result and the simplicity and ease of their build. Jollete says, “The communication between Tiffany in the sales department, Fortis Builders, and us was excellent, despite us being a 6-hour plus drive away. This made the whole experience a wonderful transaction,” and as a real estate professional herself, Jollete knows of what she speaks.

Their home is on the 9th hole of the Palmilla Beach Golf course, and they enjoy not just playing, but watching other golfers in action. The house is strategically placed within the community and close to town as Jollete wanted her family to avoid driving on 361 and be able to take their golf cart into Port A.

As a 4th generation Corpus resident, Jollete spent her childhood fishing and is thrilled to share that experience with her kids now and be able to indulge her love for deep sea fishing. The Gulf Coast lifestyle just makes all their family reunions more memorable.

Her husband, Tom, also enjoys golfing and their dogs Bosco and Benny especially love an early morning run along the beach and then lounging at REDS where they get treats, water, and lots of attention.

Another reason Jollete and Tom chose Palmilla is that “it’s the only true resort community in Port Aransas” and has so many activities, and amenities without being cookie-cutter or over-developed. Jollete appreciates the meandering pathways, cobblestones, boardwalks, and open green space within the community, and they have met neighbors in similar stages of life that they enjoy socializing with and even rekindled friendships with old family friends! The air-conditioned beach bathrooms just sealed the deal for Jollete.

As for the culinary offerings at Palmilla, Tom adores the calamari, while Jollete can’t get enough of the grilled fish tacos, and their kids love the shrimp and grits.

They have just listed their home with Vacasa for the rental pool, but Jollete and Tom plan to spend as much time as they can luxuriating in their new beach house with family and friends, indulging in Palmilla’s offerings, and the magic of life by the sea.
